Closing Time

Once your building project is completed your financial lender will finalize details necessary to activate your permanent mortgage loan.

There are a few things to keep in mind throughout your home building project to ensure a smooth closing process:

  • Establish a file for organizing your paperwork.
  • Keep all receipts documents, and checks from purchases and expenditures   related to building your home.
  • If you make changes to your original plans, keep your lender informed.  This will ensure that you stay within the parameters of your loan and eliminate surprises.
  • Prior to closing, an appraiser will conduct a final inspection of your home.  The appraiser will be checking to ensure your home has been built according to your plans. All subcontractors must be paid prior to closing.
